There are many ways QR Clue can pay for itself (and then some), including:
1. Hosts can charge guests an extra add-on fee for the experience.
2. We have data that shows guests will choose a property they normally wouldn’t because it has the QR Clue experience over a property that doesn’t have it. This results in bookings hosts wouldn’t have secured otherwise; therefore, having the experience as an option can result in getting bookings you wouldn’t normally get because guests want to try out the experience.
3. The experience itself encourages guests to leave a review when they otherwise might not. This is priceless because reviews help boost rankings & listing visibility (especially important for new hosts) which helps attract more guests and improves the listing’s position on the Airbnb platform via the algorithm.
Additionally, system data is collected and guest surveys are embedded into the experience and each month, hosts are provided with a monthly data report showing how the system is performing and details on what guests are saying. This information is invaluable.
4. Perhaps the biggest value-add is having this experience makes your property stand out from your competition because you’re offering something new and exciting in the STR industry.
Competition drives prices down. Offer something NEW and desirable that no one else is and now you can control the price.

QR Clue is two things (we like to call it win-win): first, it’s an immersive experience guests have inside a BNB (bed and breakfast), STR (short term rental), or VRBO (vacation rental by owner) that they’ve booked for a vacation, business trip, personal travel, etc. It’s a puzzle experience (kind of like an escape room minus the time limits and stress) that takes them throughout the property finding clues and ultimately, solving a mystery and receiving a memorable take-home prize.
Second, it’s a way for property rental hosts to provide a unique experience to get more bookings, more 5-star ratings and stand out from the competition. All of these benefits ultimately contribute to generating more revenue from your properties.

QR codes (lovingly referred to as QR Clues) are hidden throughout the rental property. The guest is provided the first QR Clue, which they scan with their cell phone, and are introduced to how the experience works, the rules and the storyline. From there, they are provided with a puzzle they need to solve in order to find where the next QR Clue is hidden. There are 11 total QR Clues in our current experience.

No. Guests only need a cell phone, or tablet with data service or wifi, in order to scan the QR codes using their device's camera which opens a link.

As many as your rental property can legally hold. QR Clue is appropriate for all ages.

It depends, but in our case studies the average time to completion is 2-3 hours.

Yes and No. No to the storyline as it follows a specific path to common areas found in most rental properties (for example: a coat closet, a kitchen cabinet, a table of any type, etc.).
But also yes because your QR Clue experience kit is customized to your property. For example the Start Here Display stand showcases your property address at the top along with all QR codes and videos. Your property’s photos are also shown in the introduction video so long as you provide a valid property listing link on the pre-checkout form.

Yes. QR Clue will work for any vacation rental property that receives cell service or has wifi.

Absolutely! Any time remaining in your subscription is yours to use. Renewal dates are determined by your purchase date. For example, if a kit if purchased on April 4th, your renewal is autocharged every month thereafter on the 4th. If you cancel before the 4th, you can use any remaining days in your subscription before your kit is deactivated.

Upon cancellation of your subscription, the QR codes in your kit are deactivated. If you rejoin, you will be sent a new kit (old kits cannot be reactivated once deactivated). You’re welcome to keep the items and repurpose as you see fit.

No. Due to the highly customized nature of our experience kits, returns are not accepted and refunds are not provided as your kit can not be repurposed.

No. QR Clue is customized and designed for use at one property address defined during checkout. Codes are GPS tracked when scanned and code usage discovered outside the registered property address can result in deactivation without refund.

You’re welcome to re-purchase items, as needed, in the Member Shop in the Member Area. We highly recommend purchasing backup items to have on hand in the event things get lost. QR Clue isn’t responsible for lost or stolen items. If you need reimbursement for lost or stolen items, contact your property hosting platform or insurance agent.

Monthly reports are sent on the 28th of each month. For new members, your first data report will be sent on the 28th of your second month. This way, you have baseline data from month 1 and data to compare against it from month 2. Data reports provide insight on how your guests are engaging with your QR Clue experience by measurable metrics and what they’re saying about it (specifically!). For example, usage statistics, average time guests are taking to complete the experience, number of successful completions, and other insight based on reviews and bookings received since implementation.

Currently, experience kits take one business day to customize, pack and ship; therefore, most orders will ship out on the next business day. Shipping within the US takes up to three business days max (including Hawaii and Alaska!).
